The Office for Good Governance / Office of the Prime Minister on 04 April 2019 organized a Conference on Launching the Government Strategy for Cooperation with Civil Society 2019-2023. The attendants were addressed by:
• Mr. Ramush Haradinaj, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo
• Mrs. Natalya Apostolova, Head of the EU Office in Kosovo / EU Special Representative in Kosovo
• Mr.Tulant Hoxha, Representative of CiviKos
• Mrs. Dajana Berisha, Representative of the Resource Center for Civil Society
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said that the Government Strategy for Cooperation with Civil Society 2019-2023 is related to the Government Program of the Republic of Kosovo 2017-2021 and aims to continue regular communication with civil society and other partners.
With this strategy, the government aims to increase cooperation and achieve four strategic objectives; increasing civil society participation in policy making, increasing accountability and transparency in public funding for civil society, developing practices and procedures for contracting civil society for the provision of public services, and promoting and promoting volunteering in programs of public interest ". Prime Minister Haradinaj said that to continue this successful work, at the last meeting of the Government, a decision was made on the establishment of the Government Cooperation Council with civil society, which will not only have the mandate to implement the Strategy but will be the main mechanism that will coordinate the whole process of government cooperation with civil society.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Haradinaj has assured his support of the Government for the support of the Office of Good Governance / Office of the Prime Minister, in order to implement the Strategy more effectively.
"The government has also pledged and provided a budget for the objectives, the action plan and the proper development of the work in implementing the strategy," said Prime Minister Haradinaj, pointing out that despite the achievements, there is always much work to be done to the objectives set in this strategy are realized.
Nataliya Apostolova, chief of the EU office in Kosovo, assessed that launching the Strategy is an important day, saying the strategy is an important pledge for a comprehensive dialogue between the Government and Civil Society Organizations.
In launching the Government Strategy for Cooperation with Civil Society, Taulant Hoxha, CiviKos Representative and Dajana Berisha, representative of the Resource Center for Civil Society, both as representatives of civil society pledged to continue working with institutions in development and further building of this cooperation.
Prime Minister Haradinaj thanked donors, saying that besides our program, there is a great involvement of the partners, donors, EU countries, America, for the support they have given all these years and continue to give to civil society in Kosovo .
The Director of the Office of Good Governance of the Office of the Prime Minister, Habit Hajredini, said that this is an important joint document between the Government and the Civil Society, which aims to strengthen the dialogue between government and civil society.
